PAINTING

For decades, I have been exploring my fascina on with rows of houses, windows, and walls at night in my pain ngs of facades.
Discovered during night time walks, in the rain, or under a full moon, I capture their allure, their unfathomable mysteries, and their melancholy.
I render these in mosaic-like structures and guide the viewer’s gaze into the corners, windows, and centers of the images.
What emerges are dense, some mes imposing pictorial spaces that embody both strength and vulnerability.
They demand nothing – but they open up. To atmosphere. To memory. To what lies beneath the surface.
In my figurative works, physicality and dissolution, light and dark, vulnerability and resistance meet one another.
The figures, often fragmentary, laid bare or distorted, do not function as classical likenesses but as emotional states – mirrors of inner conflicts and existential experiences.
My abstract works come into being quickly and explosively, drawing on an irrepressible inner force.
Colors drive me forward and come together almost of their own accord to form powerful works.
I apply acrylic paint not only with brushes, but mostly by hand – unprotected, in direct contact with the canvas.
